Motorola Solutions, together with the Motorola Foundation, is pleased to be a part of Crime Stoppers Tasmania new online crime reporting system, which will improve collaboration between the community and public safety agencies.
As part of Crime Stoppers Week recently, Crime Stoppers Tasmania launched a new online crime reporting system which enables easy reporting of crime, and Motorola Solutions is thrilled to support such an important initiative.
I was privileged to attend the launch, and can reinforce that Motorola Solutions is delighted to have supported Crime Stoppers Tasmania in delivering its new online crime reporting system. Information derived from the community can provide vital clues in an investigation and we know the system will be a great success.
Sharing information between the community and public safety agencies helps make our communities safer. Information derived from community members provides vital information that can ultimately help bring offenders to justice. The new system will further strengthen this community engagement with public safety by providing increased accessibility for citizens wanting to report crime.
Available 24 hours a day and seven days a week, the tool enables citizens to report suspected crime from anywhere, at any time and even from their mobile phones. The system steps the user through an easy-to-use series of online forms, collecting information about the suspicious activity, descriptions of offenders or vehicles and other vital observations. Users can even upload relevant images and their anonymity is maintained if they wish.
Other States around Australia have reported a significant increase in usage and quality of reports with the introduction of an online reporting system, and Motorola Solutions is proud to be part of bringing this technology to Tasmania.
